The Art of Tajweed

Overview

The word Tajweed means “to beautify.” This course is dedicated to the spiritual and technical art of reciting the Quran as it was revealed. Beyond just “reading,” we focus on the rhythm, the rules, and the heart-connection that comes with proper recitation.

• Makharij al-Huroof: The exact exit points of letters from the throat and mouth.
• Sifaat: The characteristics of letters (which are heavy, which are light).
• Core Rules: Mastery of Noon and Meem Sakinah, and the rules of Madd (prolongation).

• Spiritual Etiquette: The manners of interacting with the Word of God.
